The following is a user guide for using the ProSticks ProChart. For additional support, please contact support@prosticks.com.
User Input Panel
ProSticks ProChart requires the following input parameters from the user before an image will be created:

Symbol
The symbol of the security the user wants to view.
|
|
|
Exchange
The exchange in which the security is traded on. Currently, 3 selections are available:
- US (NASDAQ, NYSE, OTCBB, OTHER OTC issues)
- Canada (TSX and TSX Venture issues)
- Index (Most US and Canada indexes)
|
|
|
Interval
The time frame of each bar displayed on the chart. Currently, only Daily charts are available:
- Daily Chart
- Weekly Chart
- Monthly Chart
|
|
|
Time Frame
The time period, or duration, displayed on the chart. Currently, 6 selections are available:
- Y-T-D (Year-To-Date)
- 1 month
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 1 year
- 1+ years (i.e. limited to the # of bars the chart can display)

Chart Types
- ProSticks-Time:
ProSticks proprietary charting theory using the ProSticks-By-Time concept for calculating the Modal Point, Modal Count, and Active Range.
- ProSticks-Vol:
ProSticks proprietary charting theory using the ProSticks-By-Volume concept for calculating the Modal Point, Modal Volume, and Active Range.
- Candlesticks:
The traditional Japanese Candlesticks chart.
- Bar:
The traditional Bar chart displaying the open, high, low, and close.
- Bar and Modal-Time:
The Bar chart with ProSticks-By-Time's Modal Point.
- Modal Line-Time:
The Line chart displaying ProSticks-By-Time's Modal Point connected in a line.

Chart Size
The size of the chart image displayed. Currently, 4 options are available:
- Small (best viewed for 1 month to 6 months time frame)
- Medium (best viewed for 6 months and Y-T-D time frame)
- Large (best viewed for 1 year time frame)
- Largest (best viewed for 1 year and above time frame)

Technical Selection(s)
The number of technical indicators to plot on the chart. Used concurrently with the Technical Indicators (below). Currently, 1 upper (Upper Technical 1 and 2 lower (Lower Technical 1, 2) technical indicators can be plotted at the same time.
* For Internet Explorer 5.0+ users, once the user selects a technical (upper or lower), the technical indicator (below) selected will change to the one chosen.

Technical Indicators
The technical indicators to display on the chart. Currently, 4 upper technical indicators and 13 lower technical indicators are available:
Upper Indicators:
- SMA (Simple Moving Average)
- EMA (Exponential Moving Average)
- Bollinger Band
- Parabolic (SAR)
Lower Indicators:
- RSI: Relative Strength Index
- Stochastic
- Momentum
- MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence)
- Modal Count
- Volume
- ADX (Average Directional Index)
- OBV (On Balance Volume)
- MFI (Money Flow Index)
- Williams %R
- ROC (Rate of Change)
- Volatility

Parameter(s)
The input parameters for the technical indicators. Used concurrently with the Technical Indicators (above). Please note that not all indicators require all 4 input parameters. The parameter inputted is a value for the number of days used in the calculation of the particular indicator.

Calculate Technical By
Traditional technical analysis uses the last (or close) price for calculations. ProSticks offer the user a choice between this and the Modal Point.

|
Other functions
The Submit button is used to refresh the chart while the Reset button resets all values to the default values. Sometimes, the user will not need to press the Submit button to refresh the chart (e.g. changing and selecting technical indicators).
The Save Settings button lets the user save the settings to display for future use of the ProSticks ProChart.

Below the chart, the following may appear, if available:
- O: Open
- H: High
- L: Low
- C: Close
- V: Volume
- MP: Modal Point
- MC: Modal Count (for ProSticks-Time charts)
- MV: Modal Volume (for ProSticks-Vol charts)
- AR: Active Range
